Solar Panels

I hear a lot of people now a day’s saying solar panels are not worth the time or cost. Then if this is not true why is it that it is getting easier and cheaper to purchase and put solar panels up. Yes there was a time that it was not worth it, but as with everything that comes out on the market now a day’s sooner or later the price drops and it is made more public friendly. Then there are those people that say it is not worth it, but yet they are also the same people that are complaining on what the electric companies are charging. So I ask you if you can cut your electric bill in half and in most cases completely remove your electric bill then isn’t it worth it? So now you have to make the choice do I really want to have an electric bill or should I do something about possible removing it completely. My personnel chose is if I don’t have it then I am saving or making money. So to all you skeptics out there! Before you voice your opinion investigate what you are talking about. It is not that expensive to put up solar panels now days and you can save money with them up.

Time Break Away from Fossil Fuel

As the World tries to break away from fossil fuel they are embracing solar and wind power as an alternative energy source. At one time Solar and wind power energy was laughed at by skeptics, but now there embracing it as an alternative energy source that rivals hydrogen, hybrids, and other forms of alternative energy. Solar and wind power has become a topic of concern for top government officials in the relentless pursuit to break away from foreign oil and fossil fuel. Solar and wind power is now affordable to everyone and is available in a variety of ways to help save the environment. Solar and wind power is just not a buzzword any more. It is a viable way for everyone to save time and money. While making a conscious effort to save the environment. Solar power has been revolutionized and new technology is allowing it to not only power your home, but to power personal devices such as cell phones, and personal electronic devices. What does all of this mean to you, I would have to say a lot? The more that we use fossil fuel on an everyday bases the less that will be around in the future. Which means that if we start looking for alternative power sources now and start using them that there will be a lot of power around in the future and if we can alter wind and solar energy why not do it? These two things will be around as long as the earth and sun are around. If you go to www.wind-n-solar-power.com you will be able to find out which is best suited for you and or if there is different kinds of alternative energy sources.

Why is it that with so many ways out there for people to help with to build this country into a better place we don't? Take Energy! All of us that own our own home could very easily and cheaply put up solar panels and in most cases put up a small wind tower, but yet we don't why? Because it would make our yard look poorly. If all we worry about is the way our yard looks to the Nabors yard then we will just keep destroying what we have in this world. Most people do not realize that in most cases for less than one month’s salary they could go out and get what they needed to build their own solar panels, and with today’s technology it is actually very easy. Today there are hundreds of manuals out there that give you step-by-step procedures on how to build your own solar power and even wind power plants.
Now this sound great you say, but what good is that it only stops me from sucking power from the power company’s. No! It most cases you can sell whatever power you are not using back to the power company’s and actually has them sending you a check every month. So then they can turn around and charge others for the power. So now you are helping save on the energy that is being sucked out of the manger power plants and actually putting power back into them to help save this country. The other pro to having your own (we will say mini power plant) is that if for some reason a power pole were to go down or even the power company itself were to have to shut the power down you would not be without power. Your power would be coming from your own mini power plant.
But now you say what happens if my mini power plant breaks. Then for the short time it is down you will then be pulling power from the power company again. But if you are keeping up with the normal maintenance on your mini power plant the chances of it breaking down are very slim. Yes you will have to keep up with the maintenance on your mini power plant just like you do your car and house, and like everything else you buy if you keep up with the maintenance (take care of it) it will take care of you. Ok now you say were can I find out more. There are a lot of sites out there that will exsplain in more depth of how easy it is to own your own mini power plant and how easy it is to build and operate. One such place is www.wind-n-solar-power.com another site to get more information at is www.wind-n-solar-power.blogspot.com

Thinking About the Cost

I think this is the best thing people can do with today economy. If you stop and think about it putting in your own power plant is like buy your car your purchasing your house. Yes! It is a big decision but you have to do it or you will never have what you want. So now you are here thinking about it but still not sure. So lets look at it this way. When you bought your car or house did you not go into that knowing that you would have to keep up with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance. But now with your car you do all that and when you go to sell it are you going to get back out of it what you put into it. Your house is going to go up in value but not if you do not keep up with the maintenance, And your car can not pay you. But know put in your own power plant and there you have something. As long as you keep up with the maintenance on it your are going to save your self money every month when that power bill comes in, but wait if you do it right you will not even be getting a power bill. That’s right if you do this the power company might be sending you a check every month. Now Would That Be Nice!!!
So now stop and think about it . For less then what it cost to go buy a car you could stop paying an electric bill ever month, have the electric company sending you a check every month, raise the value of you home, and the next time the power line gets knocked down you will still be sitting in a house with all your lights on (If that what you want to do). But you are probly thinking this is going to cost a lot of money. Nope!! There are a lot of Do-It yourself guides out there and they usually cost less then $200 USD, and in most cases less then that. Try www.wind-n-solar-power.com this is a great review site of these Do-It your self web sites. Now if you are really out to help your self and others then this would be one of the best things you could do.

With rising energy costs and an increasing awareness of the global impact of the use of fossil fuels, many homeowners are looking into the concept of going off-grid. Going off-grid means detaching oneself from public electric supplies through the use of renewable sources of energy. There are many sources of energy that can be implemented to facilitate this transaction, and many homes implement more than one method when deciding to go off-grid.
One method of going off-grid that comes to mind for many people is solar power. Solar power is a viable option for providing at least a portion of a home's electricity, but is rather expensive, taking a while before a return is made on the investment. In regards to energy conservation, however, it is an excellent and clean way to generate electricity, harnessing only the power of the sun. Solar panels require little to no maintenance for decades, making them a desirable option, but location of the home and the amount of sunlight throughout the year should be considered when deciding whether to use the panels as a primary or secondary source of electricity.
Wind electricity is another common means of going off grid. In areas with high average wind speeds year round, residential wind turbines can be an excellent option. It is important to select the right size turbine for your home, depending on whether it will be a primary or secondary source of power.
These days a number of home builders are utilizing biomass as a means of powering their homes off the grid. These systems use simple wood burners to create heat that is turned to steam to run turbines that create electricity. Smaller models are now available for home use and provide an excellent means of staying off grid. The machines must be fed a constant supply of biomass, such as firewood, yard trimmings, or compost, but provides clean and entirely renewable energy to power the home as well as an excellent source of clean heat.
The last means of going off-grid is through hydroelectric power. This source requires a constant and somewhat powerful source of flowing water, such as a creek or stream, but can create significant amounts of power. Because the water flows constantly, the system is always producing the same amount of power, eliminating the ebbs and flows that come with using wind or solar power.
When making the decision to go off-grid, it is important to take your location and climate into consideration. If it is cloudy and overcast a significant portion of the year, you will not want to choose solar power as a main source of electricity, while those in areas without significant wind would be best utilizing a source other than wind turbines. There is certainly a feasible option for every homeowner that would allow them to go off-grid, and a combination of multiple methods might be the best way to go, it simply takes a bit of research to find the best and most effective method for your region and climate.

When thinking of solar power in the home, many people think of expensive solar panels and quickly shrug off the idea. The truth is that there are many ways to harvest the power of the sun for little or no money, reducing environmental impact and saving significantly on energy usage and costs. While solar panels and off-grid living should be an eventual goal for all people, the use of these simple solar energy tips is an excellent way to reduce costs in both the short and long term.
One thing that many homeowners do not consider is opening the curtains during the day. On sides of the house that are facing the sun, this produces enough light to adequately illuminate most rooms, eliminating the need to use electricity to light them. When windows are properly insulated, opening the blinds in winter months also allows heat to come in from the sunlight without letting in cold drafts. The simple act of opening the blinds can provide significant savings on heat and light usage, reducing energy bills as well as your carbon footprint. An excellent idea for homeowners is to install skylights onto the roof of the home, which do not affect privacy but can allow in enough light during daytime hours to eliminate the need for electric lights in all rooms where a skylight is installed.
For people who use outdoor pools or Jacuzzis, converting the systems used to heat the water from electricity to solar panels can also result in significant savings. All outdoor lights can be inexpensively replaced with lights that absorb sunlight during the day and glow at night, giving off equivalent light to an electric light but with no energy cost whatsoever. These simple alternatives can greatly decrease your dependence on electricity.
The last method of utilizing solar power at home is to purchase and use a solar hot water heater. While the costs of some systems are rather pricey, there are inexpensive systems as well as ways to upgrade your current water heater to utilize solar power rather that fuel or electricity. When considering that heating water accounts for a significant portion of the electricity used in any home, the savings to be gained from installing a solar water heater are immediately apparent. From washing dishes and laundry to bathing and showering, we utilize hot water in large amounts. Hot water heaters work almost constantly in order to maintain a specific amount of hot water, meaning that we are heating the water even when we are not using it. By heating the water using solar power, we stop the waste of fossil fuel and electricity that accompanies this process.
Altogether, there are a number of ways to utilize solar energy at little to no cost. These methods are quite easy to employ and have significant impact on both the environment and finances. With the state of both the environment and the global economy, there has never been a better time to implement such methods to reduce our dependence on the fossil fuels that are in many ways at the center of our economic turbulence.
